I have spent a great deal of time wondering what I should do with this space. I don't want to let it go away. I want to continue to remind people to look around them appreciate their lives. I want to advocate. So, this space and the facebook page for Alicia's Advocates will become something more.
This will now be a place for me to share other stories of families who must advocate for their loved ones. For me to share stories of communities supporting community members. I don't know how often I will post, but I hope that you will all continue to follow the blog and facebook page. If you someone who would like your story and outreach efforts talked about here, please email me at [email protected]
For right now, I am going to share the first story.
T.J.'s Triumph is the story of a Jefferson City boy who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. You can learn more about Duchenne here: http://www.endduchenne.org/

You can read about one of the awareness and fundraising efforts here: https://www.facebook.com/events/623309417713340/
You can learn about this amazing family and the Jefferson City Jays fundraising campaign here: http://www.connectmidmissouri.com/news/story.aspx?id=943543
And an indivdual's fundraising efforts to honor T.J. here: http://armycrafter.wordpress.com/2013/08/14/going-commando/
I hope to be able to post some updates on T.J. here occasionally, but to be sure you can follow his fight, and support his family and the entire Duchenne community, please T.J.'s Triumph on Facebook.
