Last Friday Alicia went to Columbia to have a new trach placed. While her oncologist wanted a different style, the orders from the surgeon were for the same style. The surgeon wasn't there, and the Nurse Practitioner, went ahead with his orders. So, she still has the same style, just a new piece. And it is just an in office procedure; pull old one out, insert new one. After that appointment she had her adrenal function test, which we won't have results of until later in the week (hopefully tomorrow). Here is the gist of things: it is awesome to see Alicia feeling so well, but the reason she is feeling well is because she hasn't gotten chemo in 5 weeks (and it is a three week cycle), and everyday she doesn't get a treatment, it reduces the effectiveness. The longer it goes on, the mountain she has to climb keeps growing higher and steeper. She is far from the end of this.
Now, on to housekeeping. Dinner tickets are sold out! If you have requested tickets already, please get the money in for those. We are working on a "standing room only" type ticket to allow people to come to the auction without the dinner. Also, get your golf team registrations in and if you have a strong preference for morning or afternoon, let us know. If you have any questions about the events please let us know.
Thank you to everyone who attended, played, watched, or otherwise supported the poker tournament on Saturday! Sounds like it was a roaring success and everyone had a great time.
This Saturday is a spaghetti dinner hosted by Karen Green at the Elks with proceeds benefitting Alicia. For more information on that, see Anne Clouse, or check the Facebook page later today.
Thank you all for you continued prayers and support!
